24.3.10

I want you to know I understand

we all carry our own burdens
are covered with our own scars
I wonder

if we could touch each others’ hearts
broken, burned, and ripped apart
pieces stitched together again and again
their edges frayed
some hardened
others worn raw and bleeding
if we could hear each others’ thoughts
the recent regrets
the old fears
the unspoken longings, and
constant insecurities
if we could see each others’ stories
in vibrant colors and 3D
parts bright and dreamy
like childhood polaroid pictures
others dark and gritty
with more pathos than The Glass Menagerie
I wonder
if we could touch each others’ hearts
broken, burned, and ripped apart
and know that
we all carry our own burdens
are covered with our own scars
